About us
English Coaching / Englischtraining
Our trainer, Megan, grew up in an English speaking home in South Africa, attending English girls’ schools. She studied German in Pretoria, South Africa, and moved to Vienna in 2009 for her studies in classical singing at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She is CELTA certified as an English trainer for adults and professionally active as both a freelance language trainer and classical musician. Megan speaks, writes and teaches British English.
We offer:

· English text-editing and proofreading.
Our expertise lies in training German speakers specifically; however, we are trained to coach English to speakers of all languages. It's our mission to cultivate and improve your communication skills in our world's "lingua franca".
Course-package details:
· Our courses are tailor-made to suit our clients' individual needs. We are committed to studying the technical vocabulary your company requires and designing a personalised course for you and your colleagues.
· You will receive a course booklet detailing the content to be covered with sufficient space for your own note-taking.
· We can train you at your company in Vienna and it's surroundings, at the Boutique Hotel Donauwalzer in Vienna, or online via Zoom.
Summary
Megan Kahts is an opera singer, trained mainly in Vienna at the esteemed University for Music and Performing Arts, who has been active as a freelancer since 2015, singing productions and concerts for various companies (Teatro Barocco, Neue Oper Wien, Festival Retz, Salzburger Konzertgesellschaft etc.), and in various locations, including the Kammeroper Wien, the Palace of the Arts in Budapest, the Teatro Sociale in Trento, Schlosstheater Laxenburg, Stift Altenburg, Musikverein Vienna etc.
Megan Kahts is a CELTA-certified English trainer and native speaker with six to seven years of teaching experience as a trainer for groups and classes (e.g. a class of IB Diploma students at the Campus Wien West) and for individual lessons at various language schools in Vienna, including the LETA Language School, Nativecoach, Bildungsraum and Language4you. She is currently working independently through her own company https://www.germish.co/ as a business and general English coach, translator and proofreader.

- Should your company require a unique support constellation, we would be happy to design a suitable package for you.
Normal translation prices:
We charge 20 cents for word for translations from German into English and 18 cents per word for proofreading English texts. For shorter texts, you will receive the corrected or translated text within a week – for longer texts, we will negotiate an appropriate deadline.
SPECIAL OFFER: Summer English “refresher” course for children aged 10-18
· 8 – 12 August 2022 AND / OR
15 - 19 August 2022
· Monday to Friday 10h30 – 14h00 (lunch break of 30 minutes) - times still flexible / subject to change if so desired
· We expand on topics appropriate for the school subject English - with a splash of playful summer fun!
· We cover reading and listening comprehension, as well as text-writing and speaking
· The children receive a course booklet with content, texts, worksheets, vocabulary and notes
